压力存在于我们的日常生活中。中老年妇女的压力主要来自健康、经济、社会和家庭关系。中老年人的健康状况很差，经常生病。他们不仅担心自己的孩子，而且非常重视与孩子的关系。而且由于身心的限制。社交能力会下降，社交能力会变窄，得不到足够的社会支持。所以中老年人生活压力大。面对压力时，中老年人往往采取以下应对方式：解决问题、转移注意力、合理化、退缩、抑郁和幻想和悔恨。

广场舞是转移注意力的方式之一。跳跃广场舞可以转移他们的注意力，从而减少他们对当前复杂生活状况的焦虑。广场舞可以促进积极情绪，消除大脑疲劳和情绪紧张，缓解精神压力。那些自己喜欢的有时间感的音乐也会起到缓解疲劳，治愈情绪锻炼的作用，让中老年人达到最佳的心理状态。研究表明，跳跃广场舞可以显著提高中老年女性的幸福指数。

中老年人会因为不再忙于过多的工作而更加注重情感沟通，通过与家人和社会成员的互动来填补自己相对空虚的时间。但是由于身体的限制和社交机会的缺乏，他们的社交圈会变窄。所以jumping 广场舞成为了他们新的社交平台。通过跳舞，很多中老年朋友聚在一起聊天，重新进入社交设备，重新进入一个社交群体，可以给他们很多情感上的支持。在广场舞的舞蹈中，也有很多空虚的老人，得不到孩子带来的情感支持，更感到孤独。跳跃广场舞也成为了理解他们孤独的一种方式。

广场舞是群众自发形成的全民健身活动，由于条件有限，不需要特殊设施，易于开展。这么大的环境，很多去跳舞的中老年人都是因为看到别人跳而参与其中。换句话说，他们受到“从众”心理的影响，即我们个人的观点或行为，直接或间接受到群体和公众的影响。因为大多数老年人的行为是决策，所以在正确率高的情况下，会尽可能减少对他们认知资源的消耗。比如很多老人一起去买保健品。跳跃广场舞也是他们从众心理的体现。

广场舞可以调动全身各个部位，提高身体的柔韧性。研究表明，跳跃广场舞，还可以改善心血管系统，在跳跃广场舞，不仅要跟上音乐的节奏，还要看领队的舞步，这样会提高中老年人的认知能力。而且，他们需要记忆更复杂的舞蹈动作。研究表明，这样反复的记忆训练，可以延缓中老年人的记忆衰退。很多中老年人也知道跳跃广场舞会对身体有好处。因此，为了健康，他们会积极参与其中。当然，这也是他们说服那些阻止自己跳舞的人的一种很好的合理化方式。
