什么是中国式英语？

中国式英语翻译一共有三种，Chinglish，Pidgin English，Canton EnglishChinglish 用的多一些,指中式英语

Pidgin English 而这个词指的是洋泾浜英语 是解放前在上海洋泾浜地区流传的一种中式英语，也泛指所有中式英语。例如， 上海话中的洋泾浜英语

上海的租界建立以后，原开设在广州、香港、澳门、南洋等地的洋行，以及在本土的外国公司纷纷转迁上海或在上海设立分支机构。由于中西语言上的隔阂，一些原在洋行任职、粗通英语的广东籍买办也随着洋行进入上海充当外国人翻译或华洋贸易的中介人。同时，上海的本土及其他籍商人为了能与外商直接往来跻身上流社会，开始学习简单的英语会话。从此，上海地区开始流行带有浓重乡音而又不遵照英语语法的中国英语，即“洋泾浜英语”。姚公鹤先生在《上海闲话》一书中是这样对洋泾浜英语下定义的：“洋泾浜话者，用英文之音，而以中国文法出之也（姚，P18）。”相传，从事此业者有三十六人，名曰“露天通事”，他们大多为无业泼皮、马夫之流。当遇到外国水手或初到上海的洋商外出购物时，他们就自荐做外国人的向导，从中渔利。其实“露天通事”素以无赖著名，究竟是否只有三十六人，并无正史为证。只不过像郑子明、范高头等著名人士有三十六人，而事实上其他无名泼皮者甚众乃至无法统计。

外国人初来上海时，华人与洋人打交道，语言的读音还能学舌，而外文字却难以摹拟。于是有些聪明人就以中文部首中的丶丨丿一凵等代替英文的二十六个字母。据说，小刀会起义期间，小刀会与租界的书信往来就是用中文部首的英文写成的，而且还真的避开了清政府的耳目。这或许也可以称之为“洋泾浜英语”，只不过由口头形式转向了书面形式。

李敖也曾在《鸽子·囮子·凯子——狱中给女儿的信选刊三十七》一信中谈及洋泾浜英语，信中颇有嘲笑的意味：“Pigeon-English也叫Pidgin-English，就是洋泾浜英文，洋泾浜是上海附近的一个地方，最早跟英国人做生意的中国人，说英文说不好，自己用中文的意思造出不通的英文，就叫洋泾浜英文。比如说‘人山人海’该是英文的huge crowds，但说成people-mountain-people-sea，就是笑话了，这就是洋泾浜英文。”

“洋泾浜”三字集中地反映了租界华洋杂处的社会文化特征，在上海地区英文专修学校和更高级的大学尚未成立时，来自不同国度的人们和本地居民普遍都使用这种语言。在英文中，所谓的洋泾浜语被称为Pigeon English，即“鸽子英文”，也叫Pidgin，即皮钦语，转指不同语种的人们在商业交往中发展而成的混杂语言。这种沪版皮钦语一度广泛使用于沪上，连正宗的英国佬到上海落脚，也得先从师学几个月“洋泾浜话”，这样才算通过初步的语言关。对普通的上海市民而言，掌握洋泾浜英语的难度似乎并不太大。由民国时人汪仲贤撰文的《上海俗语图说》中曾记载了洋泾浜歌诀：
