席慕容（1943－），著名诗人、散文家、画家，祖籍内蒙古察哈尔盟明安旗。出版的诗集有《七里香》、《无怨的青春》、《时光九篇》、《边缘光影》、《迷途诗册》、《我折叠着我的爱》等。新作《席慕容和她的内蒙古》用优美的文字和亲手拍摄的照片，记录了席慕容自1989年与"原乡"邂逅后，17年来追寻游牧文化的历程。

生于四川，幼年在香港度过，成长于台湾。于台湾师范大学美术系毕业后，赴欧深造。一九九六年以第一名的成绩毕业于比利时布鲁塞尔皇家艺术学院。

曾在国内外个展多次，曾获比利时皇家金牌奖、布鲁塞尔市政府金牌奖、欧洲美协两项铜牌奖、金鼎奖最佳作词及中兴文艺奖章新诗奖等。曾任台湾新竹师范学院教授多年，现为专业画家。

著作有诗集、散文集、画册及选本等五十余种，读者遍及海内外。近十年来，潜心探索蒙古文化，以原乡为创作主题。2002年受聘为内蒙古大学名誉教授。

溪水急着要流向海洋

Creeks hasten their rush to ocean’s charms

浪潮却渴望重回土地

Yet waves ache their return to motherland’s arms

曾那样轻易地挥手道别

…once we unceremoniously parted ways with kisses blown

Nightly our spirits’ve been back to this lawn
