玫瑰是所有花卉中最著名和最受欢迎的一类。几个世纪以来，玫瑰一直备受推崇。历史证据表明，它们大约在5000年前在中国生长，从那时起它们就一直在历史中发挥作用。无论是古希腊人、罗马人、基督徒、共济会或其他人，玫瑰始终是爱、美和平等的永恒象征。虽然每种颜色表达爱，美和平衡有点不同，但主要的信息仍然是爱。

2海棠

海棠是蔷薇科、苹果属植物，为中国著名观赏树种，各地习见栽培。园艺变种有粉红色重瓣者和白色重瓣者。

海棠类多为用于城市绿化、美化的观赏花木（虽然其中不乏果实有很高食用价值的品种）。其中许多是著名的观赏植物，如：西府海棠、垂丝海棠、贴梗海棠和木瓜海棠，习称“海棠四品”，是重要的温带观花树木。分布于中国山东、陕西、湖北、江西、安徽、江苏、浙江、广东、广西。

繁殖方法因类型不同有别，有嫁接、压条、扦插、分株、播种繁殖等方法。多喜阴湿，夏季忌高温，温度高于32摄氏度时生长不良，花前应施追肥，并逐渐增加水量，而花后应减少浇水。其中须根类的四季海棠，花后宜行修剪促再开花。
