原文：很久很久以前，在一个王国里，住着一位国王和王后，他们一直没有孩子，很伤心、懊恼。

有一天，王后在浴缸里洗澡，忽然出现了一只小螃蟹，对她说：“亲爱的王后，在六个月后你会生下一个女儿！”说完就消失了。王后听了，高兴极了。

六个月后，王后真的生下一个女儿，国王也很高兴，他决定举行一场宴会，他不仅邀请了他的好朋友，还邀请了魔法师们，让她们来祝福自己的女儿。

他的王国里一共有十三个魔法师，但国王仅有十二只金碗可以款待魔法师们，因此他只请了十二个魔法师，有一个没被请到。

宴会开始了，魔法师一个给她美德，一个给她美貌，还有一个给她财富，她们把人类的期盼和好处都送给了她。

在第十一个魔法师说完她的祝福之后，第十三个魔法师突然闯进王宫，推开了要给公主祝福的第十二个魔法师，由于国王没有请她，她是来报复的，她恶狠狠地说：“你们都给我竖起耳朵听着，公主在十八岁那年被纺纱机扎破而死！”说完她就穿过人群离去。

客人们都被吓到了，王后也哭了起来，这时，还没有送出礼物的第十二个魔法师走过来，虽然她不能取消这个咒语，但是她能减轻一点，于是她就说：“公主在十八岁那年并不会死，只是沉睡一百年，一直等到一个真心爱她的人出现，才能解除这个咒语。”

国王为了防止诅咒应验，他下令销毁全国所有的纺纱机，并且禁止人们对公主说出第十三个魔法师的诅咒。

一天天过去了，小公主一天比一天漂亮，十二个魔法师们的祝福都在她身上应验了。

在公主十八岁生日那年，国王和王后都不在王宫，公主独自一人去散步，她散步的时候，路过一个钟楼。

她走上了楼梯，打开了门，里面有一个老奶奶，正在用纺纱机织布，她就问：“老奶奶，您在干嘛？”

“织布”，老奶奶回答。

公主也想试一下，可是当她刚碰到了纺纱机，就倒在了地上，失去了知觉。

旁边的老奶奶哈哈大笑，原来她是第十三个魔法师，她恶狠狠地对公主说：“这是作为你父亲没有邀请我参加宴会的惩罚！”十八年前的诅咒真的成真了！

但是公主并没有死去，只是倒在地上睡着了。

国王和王后在钟楼发现公主睡着了，于是他们找来第十二魔法师，让她帮帮忙，第十二魔法师让他们把公主放到床上，然后她为公主穿上了最漂亮的衣服，最后，她让国王和王后回到王宫，并且挥动魔法棒，国王和王后都睡着了，连士兵们和人们、动物们也都睡着了，连炉子上的火也熄灭了。

不久，王宫周围长起了一道道荆棘，一直长到连屋顶也看不见了。

听说这个传说引来了不少王子，他们尝试着穿过荆棘去救公主，但是他们都失败了。

这天，又来了一个王子，他要进去看公主，但好心人告诉他，有很多王子去救公主，都被荆棘刺死了。

但是王子一定要去看看公主，当他到达王宫门前，时间刚好过去了一百年，荆棘都变成了一朵朵盛开的玫瑰，出现了一条道路。

王子被公主的美丽吸引，忍不住吻了她一下，公主就醒了过来。

不久，王子和公主结婚了，两个人幸福地生活在一起。

当第十三个魔法师发现诅咒被解除了，气得晕了过去，她也变成了一地落叶散去。
