豆瓣的一个影评

作者想说的或者已经说了的东西很多，两个最大的词：爱情，战争。男女主角之外，还有一对副男女主角，以及围绕着他们的好些人物。这么多的信息颇能让观众迷糊。（Audience are highly likely to get overwhelmed by so much information）一部短短的**能够把这个故事讲清楚已经不错了，如果还能让观众带着点什么感受离开影院，如同片尾的汉娜抱着希罗多德的历史书微笑着离开修道院，能够获奖也在情理之中。

　　因为片子“散“，信息“多”，第一遍看完，在床上辗转反侧之际，想起这个那个，突然明白了。今天再看一遍，我想就个人而言我明白了，虽然我很可能在扯淡，姑且闲扯一番。

　　片子的主线是艾马殊伯爵和凯瑟琳 克利普敦夫人的婚外之情。 艾马殊伯爵浪迹北非沙漠，进行历史学研究考察工作。艾马殊最害怕拥有和被拥有（own and to be owned), 所以他与凯瑟琳克利普顿夫人初次云雨之后，他说“当你离开的时候，请把我忘了。”（when you leave, please forgive me) 可是他们的爱情其实挣扎于ownership (所有权)和label(标签)之间。克利普顿夫人罗敷有夫，跟随丈夫来沙漠考察 （丈夫jeffeory事实上是英国间谍）。她属于克利普顿先生，她属于那个婚姻，她的标签是“妻子”，“克利普敦夫人”。

　　不仅仅是人与人之间的拥有与被拥有（ownership), 每个人额头的标签，还有民族国家土地地球的拥有和被拥有（ownership),以及他们的标签。艾马殊伯爵是匈牙利人。为救凯瑟琳在沙漠步行三天去最近的小镇借医生和汽车回山洞救人。英军首先要弄明白的是艾马殊伯爵的国籍，也就是身份的归属问题；即使那边厢有个女人要死了。因为艾马殊的奇怪的名字和他的近乎疯狂的态度，英军认定艾马殊是德国人，于是艾马殊被囚。艾马殊逃出囚车之后，用自己绘制的北非地图与德军交换了一架飞机（德军缴获的英国飞机），飞回沙漠山洞，只是为了履行自己对凯瑟琳的诺言：我会回来，我永远也不离开你。接着，艾马殊架着飞机，带着凯瑟琳的遗体离开沙漠，却因为机身的英国标签，遭德军机枪扫射。飞机坠毁，艾马殊全身烧伤。即便这样，在盟军医院，人们要弄清楚地还是这个面目全非，肺部只剩下一丁点儿，下半身瘫痪的废人的国籍问题。而即使护士汉娜带着艾马殊留在废弃的修道院，仍会有人因回忆与仇恨找到艾马殊企图杀死他。所以，片名叫“英国病人“（english patient)即使是这么一个“病人”，也要弄明白他是英国人还是德国人。

　　艾马殊伯爵最憎恨“拥有与被拥有”，讨厌给形容词，给标签。他说：东西就是东西，不论你在前面放什么形容词。大车，慢吞吞的车，司机开的车，破车，都是车。（A thing is a thing, no matter what you put in front of it Big car, slow car, chauffeur-driven car, is still a car) 而凯瑟琳反驳道：“那爱情呢？浪漫的爱，伯拉图式的爱， 儿女对父母的爱，都大不相同吧。”（Love Romantic love, platonic love, filial love, quite different？）更有意思的是，凯瑟琳的丈夫接口道：还有丈夫对妻子的狂热的爱（uxoriousness , excessive love for one’s wife) 真难为凯瑟琳的丈夫，这么生僻的词竟然给他知道了。害我查了三个词典才找到意思。艾马殊被难倒了!

　　他太天真。弄不清楚所有权关系，混淆标签，去掉标签，取代标签，都会有“战争”。男人女人的战争：凯瑟琳的丈夫开着飞机带着凯瑟琳企图撞向艾马殊，三个人同归于尽。国与国，民族与民族的战争：间谍，殖民地，二战，地雷，酷刑，折磨，死亡。甚至他自己，那个憎恶“ownership”的艾马殊伯爵，却把把凯瑟琳的脊下凹窝取名为“爱马殊海峡”。爱情，总是要带上“占有”的调子，不论你愿不愿意，不论有意无意；相爱的两个人，总心心念念希望在一起，身体与身体的占有，精神与精神的占有。It’s all about ownership and label 将人辗转折磨于其间。艾马殊伯爵一生逃避这个词，却最终将自己与他人，还有许多带着标签的“人”毁灭于其中。

　　甚至音乐。片中人说：音乐没有所有权。汉娜在修道院弹着德国人巴赫的歌德堡变奏曲，开着玩笑说：也许弹巴赫的钢琴，德国人不会放炸弹，因为巴赫是德国人。可是当凯瑟琳在沙漠中，影片响起拉赫马尼诺夫第二钢琴协奏曲第二乐章那段慢板，我却觉得极为不搭。音乐也是有气味，有记号，有痕迹的。拉赫第二带着俄罗斯的痕迹，我觉得放不到沙漠中去。也许是我的偏见。这曾是我最喜欢的一个乐章之一。可“英国病人”将音乐具象化了，而这个“具象”与我多年听它的感受完全冲突。

　　凯瑟琳最后在山洞中，临死前写的那一段话，

　　“ ……We're the real countries, not the boundaries drawn on maps with the names of powerful men I know you'll come and carry me out into the Palace of Winds That's what I've wanted: to walk in such a place with you, with friends, on the earth without maps The lamp has gone out and I'm writing in the darkness”

　　“我一直梦想在没有地图的地球上与你和朋友们漫步。。。”

　　愿望是美好的，有这样的愿望也许比没有强，也许最终结果都差不太多；因为愿望总是愿望。

　　也许有一样东西不受束缚：心灵的想象。沙漠中的人们在山洞中想象着游泳的姿势，在山洞中画出许许多多游着泳的人儿。幸甚, 我们还有这个。
