　东西方国家由于历史背景、风俗习惯、风土人情、文化传统等的存在很大程度的不同，所以东西方的文化交流的过程是跨文化的交流。而随着全球化的加强，在我国加入世贸组织后，走 出国 门或留在国内参与跨文化交际的人越来越多，我们都需要学习、掌握与不同文化背景的人打交道时的实际技能，所以跨文化交流这门课真的能给我们很多启发。在听很多国际学院的特邀嘉宾讲解我们的文化差异的时候，我发现我们的不同点真是无处不在，尤其是通过Mr Niall Murchadeha的讲解，我发现造成这种文化差异主要是因为以下几个因素：

　1、受经济制度的影响。中国的传统经济是典型的自给自足的自然经济。人们比较安分保守。因为他们依靠一块土地可以活一辈子，文化比较内向。而且中国的古代文明，发源于大河流域，属于农业文明，“农业文明性格”造就了东方人注重伦理道德，求同求稳，以“和为贵，忍为高”为处世原则。而西方的古希腊文明，发源于爱琴海沿岸，属于海洋文明，况且欧洲的农耕远不像中国的农耕在古代社会那样重要，所以欧洲人喜欢向外探索，文化比较外向。而且西方国家经过工业革命很早就进入了工业经济时代，“工业文明性格”造就了西方人有较强的斗争精神和维护自身利益的法律意识，以独立、自由、平等为处世原则。

　2、受地理环境的影响。封闭的大陆型地理环境使中国人的思维局限在本土之内，善于 总结 前人的经验教训，喜欢“以史为镜”，而空间意识较弱。这种内向型思维导致了中国人求稳好静的性格，对新鲜事物缺乏好奇，对未知事物缺乏兴趣。而西方国家大多数则处于开放的海洋型地理环境，工商业、航海业发达，自古希腊时期就有注重研究自然客体，探索自然奥秘的传统。同时，海洋环境的山风海啸、动荡不安，也构成了西方民族注重空间拓展和武力征服的个性。

　3、因为对事物认识的文化差异而造成的不对等。比如，在中国，龙是我们的图腾，是我们的吉祥物。但在西方神话 传说 中，龙是表示邪恶的怪物。在中世纪，dragon是罪恶的象征，圣经 故事 中恶魔撒旦(Satan)就被认为是the great dragon。此外，dragon还有“泼妇”的意思，所以，dragon在英语国家人中所引起的联想与中国人的“龙”完全不同。

　4、因为对色彩的文化差异而造成的不对等。东西方国家之间由于所处的地理位置、历史文化背景和风俗习惯不同，对色彩在表达的含义上是不尽相同甚至截然相反的。比如：蓝色(blue)在西方国家有忧郁的含义，美国有“蓝色星期一”(Blue Monday)。Blue sky在英语中意思是“没有价值”，但蓝色在中国人心中一般不会引起“忧郁”或“倒霉”的联想，反而人们喜欢使用蓝色来表达自己的心情。 再比如，在中国红色预示着喜庆，中国人结婚习惯穿红色衣服，喜欢过年贴红喜字。生意人希望“开门红”，经营赚钱了，大家都来分“红利”，股票升值用“飘红”。但在西方国家视“红色”为残暴、不吉利，红色意味着流血。

　从以上比较可以看出，东西方文化差异是很大的，当我们在与外国友人交流时必须特别注意这些差异，必须在外国文化和本国文化中找到一个结合点。让这两种文化尽可能接近，尽可能缩小由于东西方文化差异带来的交流上的误解，使东西方文化交流达到对等交流、彼此认同和相互理解的目的。

　二：中西方文化差异的表现

　对于中西文化，在具体事例上我们不免会发现许多差异之处。比如，别人赞扬时，我们常常会谦逊地摇摇头，而西方人则是坦然接受;在餐桌上时，我们会非常热情地招呼别人多吃，甚至给客人夹菜，而西方人则是每人一份，不督促不强求等，同样，见面打招呼的形式在中西方也是迥然不同的。

　另一方面，中西方的道德观也是迥然不同的。西方强调个体本位，而中国人提倡群体本位。而道德观的不同，使中西方的伦理体系和道德规范具有了不同的特点：西方重契约，中国重人伦;西方重理智，中国重人情;西方的伦理道德是以人性恶为出发点，强调个体的道德教育，而中国儒家是从人性善的观点出发，强调个体的道德修养，就像我们从小就熟知的“人之初性本善”一样。

　在建筑文化上，中国传统建筑讲究整体、群体，讲究中轴对称。如故宫、阿房宫等，体现出一种大气、气势磅礴之势，这也体现了在建筑理念上中国传统建筑的风格所具有的敦实、平缓、温和等特征，表现的是入世的生活态度，故称为“人本主义建筑”;而西方古典建筑则多注重个体，空间上讲究突兀高耸，如典型的科隆大教堂等"哥特式"建筑，风格具有突兀、冷硬等特征，体现的是宗教神灵的出世精神，所以也被称为“神本主义建筑”。

　三：积极应对文化差异

　在第九讲课上，潘建伟教授为同学们做了一次“中国旅居者在美国的跨文化适应及其挑战”的主题讲座。虽然年复一年的我国 留学 生日益增多，但却有很多人因为难以适应国外的环境导致身心和学业都备受摧残，但是面对着中西方文化的偌大差异，我们要想更适应这个社会就必须学会挑战这些差异，找到自己文化的结合点，积极应对，不要成为它的奴隶而要成为生活的主人。

　跨文化适应是指为了适应某种新文化而积极改变的过程。这一过程可以包括改变某人的信仰和态度、知识以及技能。其中外在的文化的特征包括服饰、语言、饮食习惯等,而内在的文化特征包括信仰、态度、价值观等。成功的文化适应包括在坚持原有的价值观、习俗、信仰的同时,积极尊重新文化,公正无偏的看待两种文化。所以我们不得不承认中西的文化差异是巨大的，而面对这些不同点，我们首先应该有一个积极的心态，我们应了解不同地域、不同民族的文化背景知识以及社会风俗习惯。在西方，要积极融入到另一种文化中，公正的看待两种文化，以一种积极的心态了解别人的想法，其他文化的内涵，求同存异，相互尊重，毕竟文化没有高低贵贱之分，它只是历史积淀的结果。在熟悉异国生活之后，我们应该大胆交流，在和当地人沟通时不能只是单词记忆，要尽量学习当地的语言表达方式。另外应该学会调节心态，积极调整生活学习的方式，这对自己未来的生活和职业也会有相当大的帮助。总之我们应该提高自己的跨文化意识，做好心理上的准备，利用自己掌握的文化差异的具体表现来有效的提高自己的适应能力。

目前，越来越多的人喜欢在假期旅游。前几天我看了一篇关于人们度假方式的报道，据报道，近年来新的假期习惯已经发展起来了。其中最有趣的是所谓的假期郊游的增长。

从报道中我们可以了解到，1990年，40%的人在家里度假，但是现在这个比例已经降到了9%。更多的人出去玩。出去郊游和出国旅行的比例分别由1990年的10%升至2002年的38%，由1990年的12%升至2002年的26%。人们喜欢郊游时新鲜的空气以及青山绿水。1990年38%的人喜欢去海边，然而2002年只有27%的人愿意去。多么大的变化啊！

为什么有这样的变化？我想原因有几个：第一，因为人们能够负担得起旅游：第二，人们更愿意追求一种高质量、丰富多彩的生活；第三，人们对休闲的态度改变了。越来越少的人想过那种拼命存钱、简朴的生活。总之，人们的生活水平已经日渐提高。

全球化的时代已经来临,贸易往来,资讯传递,文化交流……更是任何国家赖以

生存的不二法门因此迈向国际化才是现代人的生存之道,想要出人头地,就必

须具有国际观,并且具有口语的沟通能力,才是明智之举然而现今最强势的国

家莫过于美国,美语更是全世界通用的语言,所以学好美语才有资格踏入国际的

世界如果国人没有好的美语能力,真的是一件极为严重的大事,毕竟台湾只是

一个极小的海岛,却容纳二千多万的人民,必须依赖国际贸易才有办法维持国人

的生活,再说全世界使用繁体中文的国家只有台湾了,因此我们更须靠自己的力

量走出囿限,迈向国际化没有先天国际上的优势没关系,重要的是国人能靠自

己后天上的努力开创出一片耀眼的天空,打响台湾的名号,让全世界的人都能认

识台湾就像认识美国一样,再度展现台湾的经济奇迹与科技上的先进技术,重振

一,为什么要学英文

于地球村的世界里,交流是必然的,因此我们必须学好英语这个国际通用的语

言,才能让我们走向国际化的世界并且有专家指出使用二种语言以上的人罹患

老年痴呆症的机率明显比一般人来得低,因此学英语是最好的选择了既可降低

患病机率,又可具有迈向国际的基本能力,何乐而不为呢

二,英语的重要性

学英语不只是为了国际化的需求,更重要的是为了我们自己本身知识的扩充这

又怎么说呢 因为西方的科技领先我们,进步且有许多好文章,好的研究丛书都

是用英文写成的;为了能进一步探索研究,扩充套件们我的知识与专业技能,首先必

须学好英语,才有办法不假他人之手翻译,而能得到最真实的第一手资料

01英语口语的重要性

在全球经济体系中,英文成为重要的沟通语言,要与世界接轨,流利的口语能力

势将成为重要的关键虽然,有多数国人的英文读写能力相当不错,但口语的表

达和理解能力,对于大多数台湾人而言却是一大碍因此,在这个竞争愈趋激烈

的市场上,英语口语能力便成为英语教育中非常重的一环今日,台湾的英语教

者,不要只是要着重英语的读写技巧,应该体认到提升学生听说能力的重要

元智大学不仅要求学生必须修满四分之一英文上课学分,甚至连中文系也开了全

我们常说学习一件新事物很困难,但只要抱持着不懈的决心与毅力,终究能实现

学成的梦想倘若只是嘴巴上说说,永远也不可能踏出重要的第一步举例来说:

比那有钱的和尚考虑东考虑西,嫌这不足,嫌那困难,迟迟不肯踏出步伐,终

究没有成功的一天;反观那位穷和尚,只凭著一只钵,一双腿,靠著沿途化缘,

恳求帮助,终于凭著恒心与毅力成功从南海归来因此只要肯按部就班,循序渐

进,就一定会成功的

四,学英文应有的态度

在台湾的教育型态下,学生大多数的考试,阅读,写作的能力不错,但在听力与

口语沟通能力上就只能用「差」来形容了许多高中生,大学生甚至不敢和外国

朋友说上几句英语,只因他们的口语能力不好,但愈是如此就愈不敢开口,口语

能力也就一直烂下去,不会进步学而至此,又有何用呢 记得我在某篇报章上

看过以下的说法,「你会因为外国人的中文说得不好而嘲笑他吗 如果你的答案

是『No』,那么你觉得外国朋友们会因你的英文说得不好而嘲笑你吗 想要进

步,最重要的一点就是要不怕丢脸」看了之后,我突然觉得豁然,因为这是一

个很简单却需要勇气去承认,去实行的问题,只有放开自我,才能得到更多

01不放弃英文

要学好英文,游政琦的第一条经验守则就是不要放弃它,不论你的英文在过去有

多烂或平平的像早餐的蛋饼一样,只要你有动机想学好它,你就把过去考不及格

或其他受折的阴影给扫到一旁,就算学得再怎么不理想,别忘了,你早已经比一

些美国的文盲人士还多背了一些单字了要先对自己有信心,然后才能持续进行

02学英语的正确方法

想学好英语并不是只看课本就够的,还需要多读课外读物,如:英语杂志,英

语小说,……等等,虽然这也是众所皆知的事,但却很难真正去实行吧!毕竟

这其中所受的苦与挫折并非所有人都能熬得过来但倘若我们能拿出自己的恒

心,并选对学习方法,我们就可以快乐学习,轻松获得第一步先选一些自己

比较熟悉的英语故事书(如:白雪公主,灰姑娘,伊索寓言)做为培养阅读课外

书的习惯,一来单字较简易,二来内容又颇为引人入胜,若再加上多听朗读

CD,并且跟着开口说,如此一而再,再而三周而复始,日子一久英语能力便

会在无形中慢慢地增长,进而有了深厚的基础尔后再加上多多阅读英语杂

志,报刊,多看,多背一些新单字,增加自己的单字量,并多和同学进行的常

生活上的口语对话或和传教士们聊天,如此一来英语能力可就会顶呱呱了

03勇于开口

其实,一个人的单字或文法能力有多强,外国人并不一定很清楚,因为这是的好

坏,那就大大不同了,你说得好,大定都会看得到,所以,这方面能力强的话,

的确是会吃香不少只要你能表达出来,且勇于表达那就是好,而且你愈敢说,

你就愈得到他人的回应,而愈得到他人的回应,你就愈有自信,说穿了,要讲得

,你就必须先要敢讲,而且是大声地讲(注四)

参●结论

如同前言中提到的,台湾只是个小小的海岛,因此需要大量依靠国际贸易来维持

人民的生计,毕竟台湾的土地有限且又多山,再加上大量的工厂和住宅占地造成

仅剩不多的农地,因此甚至还要进口粮食才足以供台湾人民食用而且现今世界

上有许多国家使用英语当官方语言,例如:美国,英国,澳洲,新加坡,菲律宾……

等等,所以想和那些国家贸易就必须先学好英文,否则一切就免谈啦!另外学好

英文的另一个目的,就是用英文介绍中国文化,把中国文化的优点传出去,让全

世界有目共睹仿效我们的优点,而我们也能透过英文学习他国的好,改正我们自

己的缺点,进而真正达到文化交流的最终目的:使各国都能以他国为借镜,让错

事别一而再,再而三的发生,使各国都可比现今更进步
