《when you are old 》英文诗是什么?,第1张

英文诗名字:《when you are old 》

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,

And nodding by the fire, take down this book,

And slowly read, and think of the soft look

Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,

And loved your beauty with love false or true,

But one man loved the pilgrim Soul in you,

And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

And bending down beside the glowing bars,

Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled

And paced upon the mountains overhead

And hid his face amid a crowd of stars

a)Ten animals I slam in a net

Otto saw pup ; pup was Otto

Was it a car or a cat I saw

Was it a rat I saw

b)the bee's knees

[例] She is a very poor singer but she thinks she's the bee's knees (她五音不全却自认为是高高在上的一流歌手。)

Santa Claus' reindeer(圣诞老人的驯鹿)

它们是Clement Clarke Moore (1779-1863 美国作家)所写的‘A Visit from St Nicholas’1823作品里出现的Dasher、Dancer、Prancer、Vixen、Comet、Cupid、Donner、Blitzen等8头

the world is my oyster

if the world is my oyster The Merry Wives of Windsor (1600)Ⅱⅱ2中,恶棍Pistol对决意不肯借钱的Sir John Falstaff说、“Why then the world's mine oyster, / Which I with sword will open”(这个世界如同我的牡蛎一样,我可以用刀子把它撬开。)

horses for courses

1〕 We like to try to provide a wide range of hobbies for our members to choose from We know there are horses for courses

〔例2〕 This drug worked for your mother but it might not work for youThere are horses for courses in the medical world

《Let Your Heart Hold Fast》

Fort Atlantic

All my days are spent fast

All my cards are dealt

Oh the desolation grows

Every inch revealed as my heart is pierced

Oh my soul is now exposed

In the ocean's deep

In the canyon's steep

Walls of granite here I stand

All my desperate calls echo off the walls

back and forth then back again

To believe I walk alone

It's a lie that I have been told

So let your heart hold fast for this soon shall pass

Like the high tide take the sand

At the bitter end salt and liquid blind from the corner of my eyes

All the miles wrecked

Every broken step

Always searching

Always blend

Never fear

No! Never fear

Never fear

No! Never fear

So let your heart hold fast for this soon shall pass

There's another hill ahead

Mutual understanding is crital to the sucsess of marriage As a saying goes:"Marriage is the grave for love'To a certain extent, it has some point in it, because love in most case is romantic and the lover only see the bright side of his or her counterpart, but the marriage invovles more vulgar things During the daily life, you not only discover his or her bright side, you may also be reluctant to find sometimes he or she offensive to you Therefore, mutual understanding is pretty important to maintain a good marriage Without it, the couples will only complain each other when confronted with conflicts between them As time goes by and the tention exists, more often than not, the marriage will eventually fall collapsed So the most and foremost thing that a couple should keep in mind is that the precious love that bind them together If not for that, how could they get to know and fall in with each other

One must learn to treasure what one has had

To como to an conclusion, I believe the mutual understanding is the most vital thing in maintaining a successful marriage

How do I love thee

How do I love thee Let me count the ways

I love thee to the depth and bread than dheight

My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight

For theends of Being andideal Grace

I love thee to the level of every day's

Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light

I love thee freely,as men strive for Right;

I love thee purely,as they turn from Praise

I love thee with the passion put touse

In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith

I love thee with a love Isee med to lose

With my lost saints,--I love thee with the breath,

Smiles, tears, of all my life! --and, if God choose,

Is hall but love thee better after death

爱你,就象男子们为正义而斗争;

以满怀热情,就象往日满腔的辛酸;

我自由地爱你,像男子汉为正义奋斗;
