A few days later, I had a rough day with my kids Near the Starbucks, I knew I deserved to use my free coupon I ordered my favorite As I pulled up to the window, I handed the cashier my little gift card She said, Oh, that’s nice

I smiled, and explained how I had earned the gift by my remarkable display of politeness The manager had a quick look at me, and said, Oh, I remember this lady She was so sweet We had run out of apple cider, and she said it was OK

Latte就是StarBucks中的拿铁，其实是意大利文，意思是奶油。

                                                

含义来源二：

大家都知道Starbucks的名字来自于白鲸记中爱喝咖啡的大副。

而具体是谁想到的这个名字就少有人知道了。

这还追述到70年代初期，那个卖咖啡豆子以及香料的Starbucks。

Starbucks的名字实在是让星巴克的元老（三位）很是费心，Gordon Bowker与他的创意伙伴艺术家Terry Heckler商量店名，他其实想要用“Pequod”这个名字，这个词来源于白鲸记中的那艘船。

Terry Heckle不同意这个意见他想要的是一个与众不同而又可以同美国西北部有关系的店名，他选中了雷尼尔山附近矿工聚集地的名字“Starbo”，又经过商量Gerald Baldwin重新把名字同他喜爱的白鲸记拉上关系，Starbuck就是Pequod号上的爱喝咖啡的大副。

Howard Schultz在自己的书中说这个名字让人想起了海上的冒险故事，也让人回忆起早年咖啡商人遨游四海寻找好咖啡豆的传统，多少有些饮水思源的寓意。

而星巴克的标志就更有神秘色彩了，据说名字定下后，Terry Heckle开始研究其古老的海事书籍，后来找到了一幅16世纪斯堪的纳维亚Scandinavia的双尾美人鱼木雕（版画）图案，于是设计出了星巴克的标志，也就是美人鱼在中间周围围绕着STARBUCKS COFFEE TEA SPICES的字样。

根据调查，这个标志首次使用是在1971年的3月29日。

当时的星巴克公司名称为：

后来在1986年的11月18日注册了仅有STARBUCKS字样的这个标志，美人鱼的样子基本上没有变化。

营销美学

1、风格。

星巴克的过人之处在于既创造了统一的外观，同时又加入变化，利用风格体现美感，创造了视觉冲击。

2、环境设计。

星巴克以咖啡制作的四大阶段衍生出以绿色系为主的“栽种”；以深红和暗褐系为主的“烘焙”；以蓝色为水、褐色为咖啡的“滤泡”；以浅黄、白和绿色系诠释咖啡的“香气”。

四种店面设计风格，依照店面的位置，再结合天然的环保材质，灯饰和饰品速配成因地制宜的门店，创造新鲜感。

3、感官识别。

嗅觉、视觉、听觉、触觉和味觉共同塑造了星巴克咖啡馆浪漫的情调。

重烘焙极品咖啡豆是星巴克味道的来源，加上“四禁”政策(禁烟、禁止员工用香水、禁用化学香精的调味咖啡豆、禁售其他食品和羹汤)力保店内充满咖啡自然醇正的浓香。

这种带有意式浓缩咖啡馆的气氛和饮品被舒尔茨引进美国后，做了本土化的调整，轻松的爵士乐取代了严肃的歌剧和古典乐(如今也选播一些古典歌剧)。

4、包装美学。

星巴克的美学不仅是借鉴，还融合了自己的风格。

不同的标记在基本统一的风格下又显示出其多样性和变化性。

美人鱼商标的创造者根据各咖啡产地的珍禽异兽，文化特性和各种咖啡独有的情境，设计出十几种精美贴纸。

彰显各产地咖啡豆的独特性，让消费者看到包装就联想到各种咖啡的脸谱。
