　　出门的时候，蒙的黑纱，是新婚和没有生育的妇女，为了躲避见到陌生人和自己丈夫用的遮羞布。这种黑纱只有睡觉的时候才摘下来，甚至在夫妻睡觉关灯时，才摘掉，它使一些夫妻在路上相遇，丈夫都没有认出对方是自己的妻子。到了20世纪40年代、民国时期，惠安女服饰的风格有一次大的变化。原来过膝的上衣下摆，逐渐缩短到臂部，但是还没有短到露出肚脐。这时妇女的头饰已变成用黑布包头，不戴花头巾，也不戴斗笠。惠安女的服饰有了更明显的变化，那是在1949年新中国成立之后，她们的上衣越裁越短。这是谁发明创造的呢？据说这种变化来自1958年的大跃进。当时全县青壮年妇女集中起来修建鸟坛水库。正是在艰苦的劳动中，为了遮风挡雨，惠安的妇女不得不学习其他地区的妇女，戴起了头巾和斗笠，不料这一戴就再也摘不下来了，成为吸引人们注目的风景线。时刻不离身的斗笠里藏着女人家的许多秘密。这是在崇武石雕博览园工作的惠安女詹聪萍讲述给大家听的。海边的气候变化多端，尤其是在惠东半岛的海湾，有时刮起海风特别冷，可是为什么惠安女的上衣却越做越短呢？在和惠安女接触时，我们发现衣服越短，未婚女人腰间的彩带和已婚女人的银腰带就越明显地暴露出来。据说银腰带是男人送的结婚聘礼，它能展示夫妻感情的深浅和家庭财富的多少。也许这就是节约衫越做越短露出肚脐的原因吧!对于惠安女服饰的起源和发展过程，郑文伟，这位曾经在大学担任过教授的县委书记有一些自己的看法。20世纪50年代后，惠安女的结婚头饰不再是沉重的金属饰品和黑布，而是用绸布制作的红绣球，美观又轻巧。在不同的时代，她们的结婚服饰也不尽相同。

　　惠安女的结婚服饰时代不同，它的样式也不一样，那不知道，它这个婚俗是不是也是时代不同也不一样。因为我听说，在新中国成立以前，惠安女有一个长住娘家的习俗？她们结婚三天以后就要回娘家长住，一年里只有在春节的时候，清明的时候，还有中元节，就是七月十五，还有冬至和农忙的时候回到丈夫家，另外就是生了孩子以后，长住到丈夫家，是有这样的习俗吗？

　　这种男人长期在外捕鱼，打工，女人在家从事副业和农业，而形成的长住娘家的习俗，究竟有哪些内容？对惠安女的人生有什么重要的影响呢？我们来到了惠安小山乍半岛净峰镇的湖街村。村长吴素琴一家四世同堂，她上有公公婆婆，下有儿女，孙子，她家中的几代妇女几十年来经历过不同的婚俗。新婚夫妇从来没见过面，新娘子怎能马上适应陌生的夫妻生活，在过去，老一代的惠安女结婚后，过着什么样的生活呢？长住娘家的习俗，过去给许多惠安女带来不幸，随着时代的发展，这些旧习俗有了许多变化， 1969年结婚的吴素琴有切身的感受。如今吴素琴的女儿中专毕业，成为幼儿园的老师，她们这一代人的新婚生活又是什么样的呢？

　　与老一代的惠安女相比，小山乍镇的村民庄锦花幸运多了，今天是她出嫁的大喜日子。自1985年9岁订婚，至今已有18年了，虽然她的婚姻也是父母包办的，但是在1996年，当她20岁时，她通过媒婆知道了谁是未婚夫，就开始大胆地和他约会见面，自由地谈情说爱，如今俩人已经有了很深的感情，今天她出嫁是盼望着从此和丈夫天天厮守在一起。新娘迈过火炉走出娘家的祖屋，是惠安女传统婚俗的一个程序。据说，红色的火焰预示着新婚的生活红红火火。像传统的习俗一样，今天庄锦花梳着非常奇特的头饰。只有在结婚的大喜日子里，惠安女才能梳这样漂亮的头饰。它是由五、六个心灵手巧的妇女，梳理了四个小时才成功的。可是如果新娘子不小心把它弄乱了，自己一个人不可能再把它梳好。那为什么这些妇女要给新娘梳成这样难以整理的头饰呢？这里存在着什么奥秘呢？原来，在过去长住娘家的婚俗中，它对新娘的新婚之夜有监督的作用。据说新娘结婚三天后回娘家。如果人们发现她的头发乱了，同辈的姐妹们就会讥笑她。因此为了保持发式整齐不乱，通常新娘在新婚的三天三夜都不躺着睡觉，千方百计避免和新郎睡在一起。然而今天庄锦花梳着这么复杂的头饰，再也不是为了让它起监督作用，纯粹为的是别致、美观，为结婚的日子增添些终身难忘的色彩。如今旧婚俗中那些不近人情的习俗，已在现代惠安女的生活中逐渐地消失。
