策划一场婚礼需要投入大量的时间和精力。英国皇室的新娘梅根，相信对此深有感触，除了各种细节的确认，跨越几世纪的皇家传统和礼仪也是必修课呢。
皈依皇室
首先，梅根将在伦敦肯辛顿宫（Kensington Palace）举行的私人仪式上接受洗礼，并确认加入英国国教。此举是对教会最高首领伊丽莎白二世女王表达敬意，同时也是梅根公开宣布其宗教信仰的场合。
花艺传承
1858年，当皇家公主维多利亚结婚时，她手捧的花束里就装有母亲维多利亚女王自家花园内的桃金娘。从那时起，包括剑桥公爵夫人在内的每一位皇室新娘在举行婚礼大典时，手捧的鲜花中都会夹有来自这同一株桃金娘的一枝花朵，而这株植物至今仍然生长在维多利亚女王和阿尔伯特王子的私人府邸——位于怀特岛（Isle of Wight）的奥斯本宫（Osborne House）里的土地上。所以，梅根也将遵循这一甜蜜的皇室传统。
黄金赠礼
到了1923年，皇太后又使用罕见的威尔士黄金，发起了另一项皇家传统。在威尔士郁郁葱葱的雪墩山国家公园（Snowdonia National Park）内，坐落着一座Clogau St David金矿，这里最优质的黄金被开采出来，用于制造皇室大婚的婚戒。虽然随着大量开采，这里的黄金已告罄，但现已转型为专营珠宝的家族企业的蔻爱（Clogau），依然保持着极限量的黄金饰品供应。此外，伊丽莎白二世女王也做了适度储备，预计至少还可以制作出两枚黄金婚戒。不过，哈里王子是否会在大婚之后依然佩戴戒指则有待观察，因为按照英国上流社会的传统，男性是倾向于尽量不佩戴包括婚戒在内的任何珠宝的。
皇家盛宴
婚礼仪式结束后，梅根和哈里王子将设宴款待列位宾朋。有趣的是，无论宴席何时举办，通常都被称作“婚礼早餐”（Wedding Breakfast）。而至于宴会菜单，伊丽莎白二世及皇太后都选择了正统的法餐，而剑桥公爵夫妇则选用了各式英国本土佳肴。
如果梅根和哈里王子同样依照惯例行事，泽西岛皇家牌（Jersey Royal）土豆和赫布里底(link is external)（Hebridean）的小龙虾都可能会被摆上餐桌。此外，他们还可能会提供来自诺福克郡（Norfolk）和萨福克郡（Suffolk）的皇室家庭农场的Gressingham香酥鸭，供宾客们大快朵颐。

为了能为宾客打造完美的用餐体验，梅根和哈里王子还可能会前往伦敦顶级奶酪店Paxton & Whitfield(link is external)选择各式精品英国奶酪。到早在1797年就已开业的、位于伦敦杰明街（Jermyn Street）上的旗舰老店，挎上购物篮尽情挑选吧。随后前往附近的圣詹姆斯公园（St James’ Park）、格林公园（Green Park）等皇家公园，一边观赏大屏幕上直播的皇室婚礼，一边享用一顿惬意的野餐。
优雅礼节
此外，梅根还需要学习传统皇家婚礼的各种礼仪规则。前皇室管家及礼仪专家Grant Harrold)这样形容道：“这对新婚夫妇将从温莎城堡的圣乔治教堂（St George’s Chapel）的甬道缓缓走过，然后在女王陛下面前停下来，哈里王子弯腰鞠躬，梅根则行屈膝礼。”
一般来说，婚宴上通常由新娘和新郎带头开始宴会。但按照皇室礼仪，任何人均不得抢在女王陛下之前进食。同样，当她用餐结束后，其他人也都应停止进餐。“女王作为一位优秀的女主人，当然会确保在所有宾客都吃完后再停下来”，Harrold先生补充说。
