 Paul nodded "My brother gave it to me for Christmas" The boy was astounded "You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn’t cost you nothing Boy, I wish " He hesitated

 Of course Paul knew what he was going to wish for He was going to wish he had a brother like that But what the lad said jarred Paul all the way down to his heels

 "I wish," the boy went on, "That I could be a brother like that"

 Paul looked at the boy in astonishment, then impulsively he added, "Would you like to take a ride in my car"

 "Oh yes, I’d love that"

 After a short ride, the boy turned with his eyes aglow, said, "Mister, would you mind driving in front of my house"

 Paul smiled a little He thought he knew what the lad wanted He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile But Paul was wrong again

 "Will you stop where those two steps are" the boy asked

 He ran up the steps Then in a little while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast He was carrying his little crippled brother 

He sat him down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car

 "There she is, Buddy, just like I told you upstairs

 His brother gave it to him for Christmas and it didn’t cost him a cent And some day I’m gonna give you one just like it then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Christmas windows that I’ve been trying to tell you about"

 Paul got out and lifted the lad to the front seat of his car The shining-eyed older brother climbed in beside him and the three of them began a memorable holiday ride That Christmas Eve, Paul learned what Jesus meant when he said: "It is more blessed to give "

 男孩跑上了阶梯,过了一会儿保罗听到他回来了,但动作似乎有些缓慢。原来把他跛脚的弟弟带出来了,将他安置在第一个台阶上,紧紧地抱着他,指着那辆新车。

 只听那男孩告诉弟弟:"你看,这就是我刚才在楼上对你说的那辆新车。这是保罗他哥哥送给他的哦!将来我也会送给你一辆像这样的车,到那时候你就能自己去看那些在圣诞节时,挂窗口上的漂亮饰品了,就象我告诉过你的那样。"

 保罗走下车子,把跛脚男孩抱到车子的前座。兴奋得满眼放光的哥哥也爬上车子,坐在弟弟的身旁。就这样他们三人开始一次令人难忘的假日兜风。

 the poor are very wonderful people One evening we went out and we picked up four people from the street And one of them was in a most terrible condition,and I told the sisters:

 And it was so wonderful to see the GREatness of that man who could speak like that, who could die like that without blaming anybody, without cursing anybody, without comparing anything Like an angel-this is the greatness of our people And that is why we believe what Jesus had said:

 I was hungry, I was naked, I was homeless, I was unwanted, unloved, uncared for, and you did it to me

  随着国际社会交往的日益频繁,英语作为国际交流的重要工具,已为人们越来越重视,成为全民学习的热点之一。小学英语是英语学习的基础阶段,其学习重点在于口语。因此,培养和提高小学生的英语口语交际能力是至关重要的。  我认为培养和提高小学生英语口语交际能力应从以下方面入手:  一、信心培养  前苏联教育家苏霍姆林斯基曾说过:“成功的快乐是一种巨大的情绪力量,它可以促进儿童好好学习的愿望。”在学习伊始,许多孩子虽然对英语很感兴趣,但却认为英语是由一些奇怪的音符组成的,说出来会惹人发笑,只要自己知道就好,何必说出来呢?而且说出来还要担心自己说得是否够好,是否会得到其他人的认同。因此,教师要设法培养学生的自信心,让他们认为自己是可以大声说出来的,因为他能行。  日常生活中,学生已在无意中接触了一些比较简单的英语日常用语,诸如“Hi”,“Hello”,“Good morning”等。如果以此为开端,与学生进行面对面的交流,就能很快得到学生的认同和反馈。抓紧这一有利时机给予肯定和表扬,让其树立起良好的自信心,告诉他们“Well begun is half done”。学生尝到了成功的喜悦,就能逐渐消除运用英语进行口语交际的心理障碍,能自信的大声说出自己想说的话。  二、兴趣培养  兴趣是最好的老师。学生对此有兴趣,才可能有所发展和提高。教师可以通过加强师生情感交流,激发学生进行口语交际的主观能动性。我们应积极沟通师生之间的情感,促进情感的交流。古语有云:“亲其师,信其道。”我们应在和谐的师生关系中利用学生的向师性,借以达到口语教学的最佳氛围,充分发挥他们的主观能动性,让他们愿意说,渴望说。此外,教师还可以通过丰富课堂教学活动,激发他们进行口语交际的渴望感,充分发挥其主体作用。比如,教师可以通过在课堂上开展丰富多彩的活动,合理组织安排游戏、情景对话、课文表演等多种形式,让学生在唱唱、跳跳、玩玩中,潜意识地运用所学知识与教师或同学进行口语交流,训练出语感,为以后日常生活中的交际打下良好的基础。  三、环境创设  1、创设校园英语环境,营造良好交际氛围  儿童学习语言是在丰富的语言信息环境中,将语法规则内化并熟练运用的过程。根据这一特点,在校园内有意地营造英语交际环境,比如在校园某一处设立英语角,让学生有地方说;或在教室墙壁上开辟英语专栏,在教室书架上储备一些内容简单、趣味性较强的英语图画书,让学生有东西可读;还可将日常用品贴上英语标签,在校园内设置英汉双语牌,如“禁止吸烟——NO SMOKING”等,让学生接触单词的不断复现,在无意识中掌握这些单词。  此外,在日常交往中,教师应以身作则,用英语致问候语,让学生受其感染而大胆展现“脱口秀”:“Good morning, Miss/Mr…”。  2、创设英语情境,加强口语训练  首先,教师在课堂上应尽可能地坚持说简明的课堂用语,辅助于教师的体态语帮助理解,少用或尽量不用汉语,使学生耳濡目染,尽可能多的接触英语,运用英语进行师生交流。  其次,让学生在特定的情境中训练正确理解运用英语的能力。例如可以设置一些小游戏,编一些儿歌、分角色朗读或表演课文等,并多用鼓励性的语言对其进行评价,尽可能多的让学生参与进来,大胆进行交流。  此外,教师还可以布置一些以口语为主的灵活性的作业,让学生在课后多做一些视听训练,训练自己的口语交际能力。  四、习惯培养  M·韦斯特说过:“外语是学出来的,不是教会的。”我们应鼓励学生坚持每天说英语,运用所学英语与其他同学进行交流。刚开始时可采用“中西合璧”的方式,而后逐渐转化为纯英文版的,比如说:“这是我的苹果。”。开始时可以先说“这是我的apple”。当他会说“my”时再说成“这是my apple”,以至最后的“This is my apple”。经常做这样的练习,学生久而久之就会习惯用英语来交流了。  另外,还要鼓励学生勇于说英语,主动地说,而不是被动的回答,养成想用、敢用英语进行交流的良好习惯。常此以往,不断的注意训练,我相信,学生的英语口语交际能力自然就会得到培养和提高了。
